Easily change template colours using the built-in colour picker and custom selectors.
All templates are easily localised by simply editing or creating your own language translation of both the template admin and the template front end.
Almost all Zen Grid Framework based templates take advantage of the 50+ module positions that exist in the core framework. You wont always need to use 50 module positions but if you do - then we have you covered.
Integrated support for twitter, Facebook and a stack of other social media links and icons.
The framework combines and compresses the javascript and css delivered by the template and framework which reduces http requests when loading the site and reduces files sizes of your web site's core assets.
Upload your own css and javascript files to the template's user folder and have them automatically included in your site.
Easily set up Google analytics on your Joomla website by simply pasting your analytics code into the template administrator interface.
Need to create a slick fly out or dropdown panel for your Joomla site? Just publish any module to a panel position and the framework will do the rest.
If you dont need Mootools on your site then it's easy to set the option to not load Mootools on your site which can be a significant advantage when it comes to page load on your site.
Version 2 of the Zen Grid Framework sports a beautiful user interface that makes using framework a true joy.
Ever have a customer that wants that likes to fiddle with template settings? The Zen Grid framework now gives you the option to remove selected options from the template administrator interface.
When your site isn't quite ready to reply you can show a simple and streamlined offline page for your users.
Easily display helpful template information and settings on the front end of your site to help familiarise yourself with framework functionality.
Never leave the template admin again with the complex built-in framework and template documentation built into the template interface.
The Zen Grid Framework features clean and reusable markup based on a flexible and scalable percentage grid that makes it super easy to scale your content according to screen size.
Each Zen Grid Framework template has the option of displaying your menus in either a jQuery powered superfish menu, split menu or accordion like panel menu. The menus are delivered via the core Joomla menu module and are a snap to set up.
A tabbed interface can easily be created by simply publishing any module of your choosing to the tab1, tab2, tab3, tab4 positions. Take a look at the Meridian Joomla template's front page for a quick demo.
The framework also supports a png dix for transparent images for the Internet Explorer 6 browser.
Removing our branding on the front end of the template is an easy toggle in the template admin.
The About Us page is a single page of content on your site. There are no sub-pages for this page type. You may want to title this page About Us, About, Corporate Profile, Who We Are, etc. If you do not have need for an “About Us” section, you can also use this page to display other types of information that would fit nicely on a single scrollable page.

This page will index any number of sub-pages. It can be used to detail your products or services, or it could be used for any purpose where you'd like a lot of generic content pages presented in a nice index. For example, it could be a gallery of art or photography (one page per artist), a series of topics of interest to your visitors, a collection of case studies, or anything else. You can create up to 100 pages here, and links to all of them will appear as quickly as you add them. These pages can each be rather long and can contain any number of images. (Note – this section is not part of the eCommerce shopping cart. If you are choosing eCommerce for your site, you will indicate your product categories in a separate area, and you can still use this section for other purposes.)

This is a good way to get short, high-priority information to your site's visitors. This could alternatively be entitled Help or Q&A. When questions are clicked, they automatically gravitate to the top of the list, so that the most requested questions and answers are eventually at the top. You could alternative use this page to feature a gallery of images, links to your favorite sites, reviews of restaurants, a list of articles, and so forth.

The feedback page is a form that allows people to sign up or register with your site. It includes a form as well as introductory text, and you have a great deal of flexibility about the kinds of information you can solicit using the form. The form could function as a collector of all kinds of data, including an extended application or RFQ. The information collected will automatically be sent to you, and critical contact information is recorded in the site's database. You can access and pull that information up, and even download it in Excel-compatible format.

A photo gallery is a page of small, "thumbnail" images. When you click one, a larger, more detailed image appears in a new window, along with a caption and descriptive text. You could call this page Photos, Gallery, Pictures, Images, or Portfolio (as a way to display photography or scanned artwork). You could also use this page to display photos and descriptions of products that you are not selling online.

The events page is a calendar. It can be used to highlight any kind of event, including multi-day trade shows, trips, your personal schedule, a travel itinerary, appointments, concerts, artist appearances, and so forth. It can handle single-day events and events which occur on a regular weekly basis. Each event can be clicked, and detailed information can be offered about the event. People who visit your site can either view this page as an actual calendar or as a list of events (ordered from the next upcoming event and onward).

The store locator is a way for people to locate one or more addresses within proximity to their zip code. You can enter any number of locations (up to your service limit). When a visitor to your site enters their zip code, they are given a list of locations within proximity (a certain number of miles that you specify), sorted from nearest to farthest. You can use this page to present service locations, retail locations, dealers, churches, childcare providers -- the applications are endless.

You can restrict participation to the people who have registered at your site, or you can allow any visitor to participate. The discussion forum follows the style of most high-end message boards on the internet, and allows for a full range of maintenance and security options (including moderator privileges, signatures, smiley icons, naughty-words filters, etc.). The forum could be alternatively entitled Message Boards, Customer Service, Let's Talk, or Discussions.

Any Zip site can feature a custom search engine. Since all the content in your Zip site is contained within a database, we automatically do a keyword-indexing of it. If you have a great deal of content, you can then offer people access to your pages using the search engine we provide.
The search engine locates pages on your site wherein all the words typed appear together. The results appear sorted by section of the site. So if, for instance, someone typed "car" and your site was all about automobiles, they would perhaps see pages under Articles wherein the word "car" appeared. By clicking any of those they would reach the appropriate page. They might also see pages under FAQ relating to cars, and events in your event calendar relating to cars. All of these would be accessible and sorted according to the section of your site, allowing them to home in on the page they are looking for.
A custom search engine is a standard feature for any Zip site. (If your site is small, you probably won't want to bother with this feature, though.)

This page can be used either with your eCommerce store as a “My Account” section where people can login and manage their orders, or it can be used to password protect certain, or all, pages on your site.
This would allow you, for instance, to offer a page of articles and a page of downloads only to people who have registered on your site. You can explain on the login page that they need to register and then log in to access some of your site's content. It's a way to force people to supply you with legitimate content information.
You can also use the login page to protect some of your content from anyone you do not assign a password. So you could use this to give your vendors or customers private access to information on your site that you don't want the general public to access (whether they register or not). You can even sell access to parts of your site from your shopping cart.
You could also protect your entire site using the login page -- such that, when people first come to the site, they are forced to log in before accessing anything at all. If you don't provide them a password, they can't reach anything. (Or perhaps, they can only reach the home page.) This is a way for you to provide access to a specific group of people, such as your employees or your family. (It's a great way to develop a company extranet or a site where you display photos of your kids without anyone but your relatives gaining access.)
The login feature is available as a standard option with any Zip site. An example of how the Login page will look and function can be seen here: http://www.bulaworks.com/example/#
The gift registry is a component that can be added to any e-commerce Zip site. (It cannot be added to a site that does not have e-commerce.) It allows shoppers to create a gift registry for your site -- a list of things that they would like to invite others to purchase for them. It could work for a shower, a birthday, a wish list, or a Christmas list. An example of how the Gift Registry page will look and function can be seen here: http://www.bulaworks.com/example/#
